Today I returned my third HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One B210a. But let’s backup one moment, I have bought used and really liked HP printer for the last, god can it be, twenty-five years. In that time I’ve bought one other brand of printer, an Epson, which I hated! It printed very nice images when it worked which was only after installing fresh ink and then only if I used it everyday, which I rarely did, a real pain. Back to the B210a.
I’m developing an app that will use AirPrint, so naturally I needed an AirPrint printer. I was at Costco, the price was right, so I bought it. It never worked right to start with, some sort of processor or software issue. Didn’t really pay that much attention, it was an HP, 25 years, must be a fluke, everybody puts out a lemon once in a while.
Printer 2 confirmed my be belief it was a fluke! It worked great out of the box! I printed two or three times, used the scanner, fantastic! A week later it ceased to function, maybe its not a fluke. But, 25 years, I’ll give them one more chance.
Printer 3 behaved just like Printer 2. Come week three I couldn’t print over the air. According to the router it was assigned one IP address and according to the printer a completely different one and it couldn’t talk to the internet anymore. So, I give up, I returned the printer and instead of writing this I should be researching a new AirPrint printer. Suggestions are welcomed.
